Dr.-Leah-LightDr. Leah Light is founder and director of the Brainchild Institute in Hollywood, FL. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and her Master of Science and clinical doctorate(Au.D.) degrees in Audiology. Dr. Light is a member and certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), American Academy of Audiology (AAA), Florida Association of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists (FLASHA), and the Florida Academy of Audiology (FLAA). Having worked with almost every aspect of hearing loss and impairment from newborns to seniors, Dr. Light has extensive clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, vestibular dysfunction, and other auditory related disorders. In addition, she has worked as an integral part of child development and patient management teams.

For the past 24 years, Dr. Light’s focus has been on neurodevelopmental audiology and Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD). In addition, Dr. Light is a certified Core Specialist in the Masgutova Method (MNRI), a program for addressing retained primary reflexes, which are often at the root of communicative disorders and learning disabilities. As an audiologist and neurodevelopmental specialist, Dr. Light has participated as a guest speaker for the American Academy of Audiology and the Florida Academy of Audiology. She has also written articles for local magazines and newspapers including South Florida Parenting Magazine,The Autism Notebook, and The Miami Herald as well as U.S. News and World Report. In addition, Dr.Light authored a chapter in the book, Auditory Processing Disorders: Assessment, Management, and Treatment (Second Edition).

Dr. Light’s mission is to improve listening, attention, and learning skills in children of all ages by addressing the whole child starting at the foundation of their brain development.
