Origin of the Masgutova Method ( MNRI®)
Svetlana Masgutova, Ph.D is the originator of the Masgutova Method. Dr. Masgutova developed the Masgutova Method following her graduate and doctoral work in Russia. Her access to a broad cross section of pioneering research along with her experience treating survivors of the Ufa train accident in Russia gave her great insights into the impact of trauma and healing on many levels.
Since it’s origin in 1989, Dr. Masgutova has been researching the influence of motor reflex and sensory integration on the different aspects of motor, communication and cognitive development as well as emotional and behavioral regulation, to the great benefit of those who have accessed her knowledge and approach. The results are astounding.
Dr. Masgutova’s organization has served over 28,000 children and adults spanning 25 countries including Russia, Poland, Germany, France, Canada, and the United States. The Brainchild Institute here in Hollywood, Florida is a leader in using the Masgutova Method (MNRI®) for our patients here in South Florida. The organization has also sponsored over 45 family educational conferences and has trained over 8,000 MNRI® students, parents and caregivers in this life-changing method including our own Dr. Leah Light, a leading advocate of MNRI® in South Florida.
